About this work

I have walked and driven through Battersea in London, many times, but I have never in reality seen it this menacing. Battersea is famous for it's 'Battersea Cats and Dogs Home' which finds new homes for animals.
In the painting there has been a breakout one wet night, and dogs have escaped, some bewildered by the outside world, and some taking criminal advantage of the situation.
The bright shop lights in the pouring rain of the wet high street, is captured well by the freely splashed and dribbled paint forming reflections in the rivers of water.
